El Nad M17 V2i is a preamplifier and surround sound processor with which you can obtain the best image and sound possible, building a system with separate components (processor + power stage). Although there are very good AV receivers on the market, including some high-end ones from NAD itself, the best possible quality is achieved with separate equipment.

The biggest difference between a surround sound processor and an AV receiver is that the former does not have internal amplification. This eliminates heat and noise generated during amplification, helping to improve the quality of what you see and hear.

The NAD M17 V2i can be connected to a multichannel power amplifier of your choice, using balanced (XLR) or unbalanced (RCA) cables.

Eventing surround sound

The NAD M17 V2i offers a full selection of HDMI sources and surround sound decoding along with its 11.1 balanced outputs. Packed with sophisticated features such as high-resolution lossless surround formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Masters, as well as object-based Dolby Atmos, the M17 provides the highest levels of performance. The surround mode of the source material is automatically detected through the NAD M17 V2i's digital inputs, and the most advanced form of decoding, based on your settings, is activated. Conversion of encoded digital content is done in high resolution and with extremely linear digital-to-analog converters carefully selected for their performance.

Configuration flexible

The latest HDMI features are included, including HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 color resolution, High Dynamic Range video support, and CEC/ARC. Digital inputs and outputs are available with both coaxial and optical connectors to make it easy to connect your digital sources. With BluOS, you can also easily add more speakers to listen to music in other rooms. The IR repeaters, 12V triggers to automatically control the amplifiers on and off, and the RS-232 data port make it easy to connect with advanced automation or home automation control systems, such as Crestron or Control4. Other features such as discrete On/Off codes, direct input access and FM station presets make it easy to integrate the Nad M17 V2i into complex remote control systems.

Master Quality Authenticated (Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) website)

Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) is a revolutionary peer-to-peer technology built into all music players with BluOS that captures and delivers master-quality sound to any room in your home. All NAD BluOS music players include a powerful audio decoder and renderer for the MQA system. The MQA logo displayed in the BluOS app indicates that the unit is decoding and playing a stream or MQA file, and lets you know that you are hearing exactly what the artist recorded and approved in the studio.

More advanced users can build their perfect listening environment that corrects both timing and colorations of the sound, including the ability to create custom curves for room response and the option to choose from a variety of third-party calibrated microphones.
