El NAD C 399 is the new flagship of the classic series of integrated amplifiers manufacturer. With its HybridDigital amplification and integrated DAC, this amplifier expresses NAD's intention to achieve excellence in sound to provide lasting value to its equipment.
The C 399 uses NAD's Hypex HybridDigital nCore amplification circuitry technology, which until now was only available in Masters series amplifiers. Its digital section is built around a 32bit/384kHz ESS Saber Dac, the same one used in the acclaimed amplifiers NAD M10 y M33.
The NAD C 399 is the first amplifier to incorporate the latest generation of Modular Design Construction technology, the MDC2, which allows users to add optional modules that offer functions such as multi-room music streaming. BluOS or Dirac Live room correction.
Power perfect
Inherited from NAD's Masters series, the NAD C 399's HybridDigital nCore amplification can provide up to 180 watts per channel of continuous power, and 250 W per channel of dynamic power, thus being able to reproduce the most demanding musical passages effortlessly.
This design is recognized for its wide bandwidth, flat frequency response, clean performance, high current capacity and stability with demanding low-impedance speakers.
Noise and distortion fade at all volume levels. Tiny levels of harmonic distortion typically appear at the second and third harmonics. The C 399 achieves a neutral and distortion-free sound with the help of its sophisticated technology, even at high volumes, maintaining exciting dynamics, exquisite level details and outstanding recreation of space.
Also inherited from the Masters series, we have the ESS Saber 9028 high-resolution DAC, a design praised for its wide dynamic range, ultra-low noise and distortion, and virtually zero jitter levels. This ultra-high-end Dac allows the Nad C 399 to reproduce all digital sources with astonishing musicality, astonishing clarity and accurate soundstage.

Prepared for the future
In 2007 Nad introduced Modular Design Construction (MDC), an innovative architecture for adding new functions to existing equipment. Many Nad products have slots on the back to be able to insert MDC modules that, for example, allow you to select between several HDMI sources, stream BluOS multi-room music, process Dolby Atmos surround sound, and others.
The C 399 is the first product to carry the next generation MDC, the MDC2. Allowing bidirectional communication between the module and the equipment, MDC2 opens a future for new updates.
Equipped with Wi-Fi and Ethernet, the optional MDC2 BluOS-D module allows you to listen to music from your favorite streaming services through the C 399, using the acclaimed BluOS Controller app for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. Like all BluOS products, the MDC2 BluOS-D integrates dozens of streaming platforms and is compatible with AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Two-way communication also allows the MDC2 BluOS-D to stream music from sources connected to the C 399 to BluOS devices in other rooms.
The Dirac Live function allows you to measure the acoustics of your room using a supplied microphone and an intuitive app, then uploading correction curves to the MDC2 BluOS-D. By compensating for anomalies in your listening room, Dirac Live greatly improves bass clarity, imaging, and timbre accuracy. Thanks to its bidirectional architecture, the MDC2 BluOS-D performs room correction for all sources connected to your C 399.

Connection total
You can connect all your digital and analog sources to the NAD C 399. Its MM phono preamp incorporates ultra-precise RIAA equalization, extremely low noise and high overload margins. The phono preamp also features an innovative circuit that suppresses the infrasonic noise present in all LPs, without compromising bass response. It also has two sets of line inputs, with low-noise buffer amplifiers to prevent sound degradation.
The 399 has two optical digital inputs and two coaxial digital inputs, as well as an HDMI port with eARC to reproduce the sound of a TV connected to it, being able to control the volume of the amplifier with the TV's own remote control.
In addition to two pairs of speaker outputs, the C 399 has one pre-output and two for subwoofers. Its bidirectional Bluetooth HD aptX allows you to stream in 24 bits from mobile devices, and it also has an output for high-quality Bluetooth headphones.
It also incorporates a dedicated headphone amplifier with low output impedance and high output voltage capability, allowing you to drive even the most demanding studio monitor headphones with high impedances.

A classic timeless
As with any amplifier NAD Electronics has ever made, the C 399 has a perfect foundation: precision volume control with precise channel balance, low-noise circuitry, and correct input and output impedances. But it goes beyond the basics. With its HybridDigital nCore output stage and high-resolution ESS Saber DAC, the C 399 can play all your analog and digital sources with a level of excitement and sophistication unprecedented for a Classic Series integrated amplifier.
Thanks to the innovative MDC2 platform, the C 399 will be prepared for future developments. Essentially, MDC2 makes obsolescence obsolete. The C 399 can serve as the center of a high-end music system, and for many years.
