El DALI Rubikore 8 is a floor speaker Designed for high-fidelity and home theater systems in medium and large rooms. It combines three 6,5-inch woofers with a hybrid dome and planar panel tweeter to deliver deep bass, detailed highs, and high sound pressure handling.

design and construction

Measuring 1100 × 220 × 444 mm and weighing 30 kg per unit, the enclosure is robust and reinforced to reduce unwanted vibrations. It is manufactured and assembled in Denmark with high-end finishes (Black, White, Maroon and Natural Walnut). The grille is magnetic and the package includes spikes and rubber bumpers to adapt to different floors. This solid construction helps the speaker sound clean even at high volumes.

Outstanding Features Dali's Rubikore 8

  • Controlled graves
  • Three 6,5” paper/fiber cone woofers deliver deep, defined bass without losing control.

  • Precise highs
  • Hybrid planar and soft dome tweeter delivers detail and air, with smooth transitions and less fatigue.

  • Triple bass reflex
  • Three Continuous-Flare ports optimize airflow for deep, fast, breath-free bass.

  • Less distortion
  • SMC in the magnetic system reduces eddy current losses and improves clarity.

  • Extended range
  • ±3 dB response from 38 Hz to 34.000 Hz covers from deep bass to highly detailed highs.

  • Powerful sound
  • Sensitivity of 90,5 dB and continuous SPL of 112 dB allow high volume without effort or compression.

  • Premium finish
  • Built and assembled in Denmark, with high-end finishes and a reinforced enclosure for durability.

  • For large rooms
  • Designed for large listening spaces, it fills the room with ease and sustained dynamics.

    configuration tracks

Its 2,5+0,5+0,5-way architecture divides the workload between three woofers and a hybrid tweeter to reduce distortion and improve frequency coverage. In practice, two woofers handle bass and low-midrange frequencies, while the third reinforces the lower octaves. The dome handles the treble and the planar panel adds the highest part of the spectrum. The crossover points are at 500, 800, 2.400, and 14.000 Hz, so that each transducer operates in the area where it performs best. This distribution facilitates a smooth transition between bass, midrange, and treble.

    Hybrid tweeter detailed

The tweeter combines a 29 mm soft dome with a 17 x 45 mm magnetostatic planar element. The dome adds energy and body to the treble, while the planar element extends the response above 14 kHz to provide airiness and micro-detail, useful for perceiving cymbal textures or reverberations. This pairing offers a wide dispersion, so multiple listeners can enjoy a coherent tonal balance. When listening directly from the front, more brightness may be perceived; angling it slightly less toward the listener usually balances the result.

    Woofers and materials

The three 165mm woofers employ Clarity Cone cones made of wood-fiber paper, a lightweight and rigid composite that responds quickly without pronounced resonances. The magnet system uses SMC, a material designed to reduce eddy currents (electrical losses that add distortion). In practical terms, this helps maintain clean bass and clearer midrange. The result is controlled playback that doesn't blur with demanding music.

    bass reflex XNUMXPS

It features three Continuous-Flare bass reflex ports with smoothed profiles to minimize air noise. This solution extends the bass response down to 38 Hz (±3 dB) with a good sense of depth. Tuned with multiple ports, the airflow is more stable and turbulence is reduced. DALI recommends separating the speaker from the rear wall between 25 and 180 cm; as a starting point, 40–60 cm is generally suitable for home living spaces.

    Power and amplification

It is a 4 ohm passive speaker with recommended power from 40 to 250 W. The nominal sensitivity is 90,5 dB (2,83 V/1 m); in practice it benefits from amplifiers with good current delivery. Models such as Hegel H590 or the Denon PMA-3000NE are good candidates, but there are alternatives as long as the amplifier is stable at 4 ohms. The connection is made with speaker wires standard from a stereo amplifier or a AV receiver.

    Benefits and

The 38-34.000 Hz response and a continuous SPL of up to 112 dB allow it to cover large rooms effortlessly. Its sound is clear and well-defined, with firm bass, articulate midrange, and highly resolved highs thanks to the hybrid tweeter. Off-axis, it can be somewhat bright; a slight outward angle or placement parallel to the walls usually softens this. It offers a wide, stable soundstage, useful for both stereo music and front channels in home theaters.
