Connectivity
Bluetooth 5.0 gives you greatly improved connection range and stability, as well as better sound quality with apt-X, apt-X HD, and AAC. You can also connect analog sources by cable through its stereo mini-jack input. Combine that with the USB charging output and you can power a small ChromeCast Audio for easy integration into your local network.
Longer battery life
The powerful 3.300 mAh internal battery in the Dali Katch G2 offers up to 30 hours of non-stop playback. Charging it to maximum takes 2 hours. The battery indicator lights are activated by pressing a button, immediately revealing the current battery level.

The Dali Katch G2 is perhaps the best sounding battery powered Bluetooth speaker. Wrapped in an elegant solid rounded casing that contains specially developed drivers to carry the audio signal from the internal digital amplifier. Easily connect via Bluetooth 5.0, supporting the excellent sound quality of apt-X, apt-X HD and AAC. The Dali Katch G2 also supports an analog input via minijack. With such a powerful portable speaker in your hands, you'll love the USB charging output port, keeping your phone or tablet charged while listening to music. The Katch G2 can be used in a lot of situations. Thanks to its two different audio profiles, you can choose between a neutral frequency response, perfect for most times, or a warmer response that will sound perfect in larger rooms or when you need a little extra to your music. The rubber foot has also been improved, ensuring that the Katch G2 stays on the surface without losing its grip.
Connections
Sending music to the Dali Katch G2 is as easy as making a Bluetooth connection. Connect like any other device or use NFC for a quick, effortless connection. The integrated Bluetooth 5.0 receiver accepts apt-X, apt-X HD, and AAC connections if the source device supports it. Alternatively, the Katch G2 has a 3,5mm stereo mini-jack input, so you can easily connect devices that don't have Bluetooth. The mini-jack input automatically detects the signal, so you don't have to press any buttons when you want to listen to music. Pressing the Bluetooth button with the mini-jack connected will allow you to switch between the mini-jack input and Bluetooth. Next to the mini-jack input there is a USB charging connector and a power connector. The USB charging port allows you to charge your mobile device while you're using it, but also power a small Chromecast Audio or Amazon Echo to easily integrate it into your local network.
Battery
The internal Li-Ion battery has a total capacity of 3.300 mAh, allowing the Dali Katch G2 to play at normal volume for up to about 30 hours. The battery is replaceable and is manufactured by a quality battery brand for the best results. Charging time is a little over 2 hours with the supplied charger. If you power the Dali Katch through its charger you will be able to play at a higher volume and with more energy. This is recommended for optimal performance when used at loud parties. The dedicated USB output port adds the ability to charge your phone while carrying the speaker.

Based on a very powerful neodymium magnet, the lightweight 21mm soft dome. It takes up very little space inside the receptacle but retains a large membrane area. Both factors are extremely important in the Dali Katch G2. The compact size of the tweeter driver leaves more room for the woofers. The large surface area of the dome area ensures better reach towards the mid frequencies without any breakup or loss and integrates effortlessly with the woofer in the all-important mid range. The powerful neodymium magnet provides high-power, high-sensitivity driving to the soft-dome tweeter, resulting in agile, detailed and accurate high-frequency reproduction.
Woofer
Designing a long excursion bass/midrange woofer into a shallow enclosure sounds a bit counterintuitive. However, this was the task of the acoustic team. Using an unconventionally designed chassis, inverted membranes and a special spider suspension, it has been possible to obtain the same maximum excursion as a traditional woofer of similar size. Every extra millimeter gained in internal depth translates into true low frequency reproduction, allowing the woofer to generate bass with just a little help from the DSP. Despite the limited surface area of the speaker, the woofer cone is relatively large (3,5"). The turned-out cone is constructed from an aluminum cone with a soft fabric dust cap. The rigid cone Aluminum allows the woofer to move as much air even in the midrange frequencies, and the combination of the aluminum with the fabric works to decrease surface resonances, retaining detail and clarity.
wireless stereo
Using a pair of Dali Katch G2 units, it is possible to create a wireless pair with dedicated left/right channels using Bluetooth between them and from the input source. The connection uses one Katch G2 as primary and the other as secondary. The wireless stereo mode has several advantages: in addition to adding a true stereo image, the extra drivers working together will give a sound with significantly greater distortion-free pressure and improve bass quality and extension. Perfect when the party extends from the living room to the kitchen!
